Position: Human Resource/Payroll Coordinator
Evansville Manor is a 71-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located just 20 miles outside of Madison and 16 miles from Janesville. We are looking to hire an experienced and efficient Payroll/HR Coordinator to undertake a variety of HR and Payroll administrative duties. Under the direction of the Nursing Home Administration, the HR/Payroll Coordinator is responsible for overall employee service functions in the facility including, but not limited to: employee relations, payroll, personnel records, Workers’ Compensation, employee benefits, HR compliance and leave of absence reports.
This job is ideal for individuals who have HR experience from entry-level to managerial level. We are open to candidates who have the following backgrounds; HR Assistance, HR Generalist, Payroll Coordinator, Human Resources internships or have recently graduated from university and are looking to get into the Human Resources field.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) AND one to three years related experience
- 2+ years of previous HR and/or payroll experience preferred
- Experience with Paychex payroll software preferred
- Experience in Healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
- Able to communicate well in both verbal and written forms
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate talent acquisition processes with hiring managers and assist with recruitment tasks as needed
- Complete on-boarding process of new employees from all required pre-employment paperwork, background checks and license/certification verification to new hire orientation.
- Assist in performance evaluation programs
- Prepare all required documentation necessary to process payroll.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer any employee payroll queries
- Update payroll records by entering any changes to employee information such as job title changes, pay rates and deductions
- Maintain all payroll and benefit operations according to company policies and procedures
- Assists in terminations, corrective actions, and implementation of organizational changes, dispute resolution, and other HR tasks.
- Provide management with advice on minor corrective actions and/or terminations, and/or assists with investigations as needed.
- Process and file benefit and related information
- Verify and reconcile invoices prior to submission to Corporate Accounts Payable
- Maintain personnel files.
- Compile and maintain report data as assigned.
Requirements:
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents, staff and vendors
- Displays ability to implement and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the administration department
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
