Human Resources Specialist
APS Medical Billing – Toledo, OH
The Human Resources Specialist is a dynamic role with a variety of responsibilities. These include employee training, tracking of relevant departmental information and play a vital role in the recruitment process and identifying trends to attract talent. This individual provides support with employee benefits, policy implementation and has a good knowledge of employment law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality of employee information, company information, records and related issues in accordance with all applicable laws
- Staff recruitment and retention
- Assists in the implementation and development of creative, fun employee engagement/retention programs.
- Responsible for the hiring process - interviewing, orientation, processing and onboarding
- Collaborates with management during the offer process
- Assists with job postings
- Handles the termination process – processing, notifications, etc.
- Builds applicant sources by identifying community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, internet sites, job fairs, presentations, etc.
- Identifies candidate tracking trends and makes recommendations
- Participates in the implementation and distribution of HR policies and procedures
- Collaborates with employees, management and vendors
- Conducts periodic audits on employee files and workplace poster requirements to ensure federal and state compliance
- Engages in employee training
- Oversees training enrollments and completions
- Performs other duties as needed
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal training and experience
- At least 2 years of successfully engaging in all phases of the recruitment and hiring process preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of human resources principals, practices and procedures
- Proficient with computer applications
