Hydraulic Design Engineer II (York, PA)
Voith Hydro Inc. is seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer II, (York, PA) to design hydro turbine components as part of a worldwide design team (runner, guide vanes, stay vanes, or other components). Conduct numerical analyses and optimization of turbine water passageways using state-of-the-art technology. Develop concepts to address environmental issues. Plan and execute model scale designs and tests in Hydraulic laboratory. Coordinate projects with management on schedule, budget and deliverables. Execute a hydraulic acceptance testing with customer in hydraulic laboratory. 5% domestic travel and 3% international travel required. Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field and 1 year of turbomachinery design experience. Must have the following experience: Fluid dynamics; Turbomachinery, and CFD; Working with meshing software; Ansys solvers or other 3-D viscous flow solvers; Laboratory model test; Structural analysis using FEA; and CAD and CAE tools.
