About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer to serve as part of the company's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team leading the design and management of a highly targeted independent credit review (oversight) capability to assess the quality of lending and on-going management of credit risk within the Bank, including adherence to risk appetite, credit policy and regulation. This role may include jobs, tasks and projects which approve and provide credible challenge to line of business credit products, programs, transactions, and policies, and participate in acquisition due diligence.

In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Credit Risk.
- Review and analyze complex strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture.
- Manage the credit strategies for centralized Personal Lending Account Management and support the decision infrastructure for Personal Lending Risk team.
- Receive direction from leaders.
- Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Interact with internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management.
- Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics.
- 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 5+ years of SAS and/or SQL experience.
- 5+ years of credit risk management/analytics experience for consumer lending products.
- Knowledge and understanding of databases and data mining techniques.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong operational and execution skills, with keen attention to detail and experience working horizontally across the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, influence and communications skills.
- Master's degree in a Quantitative or Advanced Analytics discipline.
