A contract mail carrier, also known as a highway contractor (HCR), is an employee of the United States Postal Service (USPS) who is responsible for delivering mail to rural areas small communities or other designated areas.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering mail and packages to rural customers on a designated postal route.
• Operating a USPS vehicle to transport mail and packages.
• Collecting mail and packages from customers.
• Maintaining accurate records of mail delivery and pick-up.
• Resolving customer complaints and issues related to mail delivery.
• Sorting mail and packages according to postal regulations.
• Following all USPS safety regulations and procedures.

Work Experience:

• No prior work experience is required for this position, but previous experience in a similar role such as delivery driver or courier may be helpful.
