JOB DESCRIPTION - LIFE SAFETY, MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have knowledge and experience in all areas of housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance. Must be able to train staff. Must be cheerful and pleasant. Must be able to interface with direct care staff, administration, and clients. Must be able to organize and supervise. Must be aware of the normalization process.

SUMMARY:

The Life Safety and Maintenance Supervisor works as a team member and assists the Administrator with the daily management of the facility. He or she organizes, coordinates, and supervises environmental and other services rendered by and for the institution along with the Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

◦ Maintain a safe, homelike environment for all residents where an optimum of self-determination can be reached and maintained.

◦ Supervise and assist in the annual Fire Marshall Survey Process

◦ Supervise and assist in the annual Bio Hazardous waste survey process

◦ Monitor Life and Safety code compliance Prepare schedules paying attention to overtime.

◦ Assist Administrator in monitoring Life and Safety Code compliance

◦ Meet with purveyors and providers to solve problems when and if they occur.

◦ Attend Department Head meetings, and assist in developing policies and procedures for the facility at large.

◦ Assist with employee evaluations to make sure each employee evaluation is given out in a timely manner

◦ Attend Client Care, Safety, and infection control committees

◦ Order any needed supplies

◦ Monitor linen supply and order when needed

◦ Assist Administrator in Licensing and Fire Marshall Survey process and

preparation

◦ Review and monitor scheduling and overtime

◦ Interview and hire new employees

◦ Monitor ongoing employee training and safety

◦ Assist the Administrator in counseling employees and terminate when needed.

◦ Any other jobs/special projects as requested

◦ Assist in color coordination/design of the facility

◦ Monitor outside and inside environmental cleanliness and safety

◦ Assist in setting up systems for janitors and maintenance crew

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
