Center for Information Technology at Oberlin College has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Manager of Digital infrastructure to join a dynamic, talented, and innovative team of 40 technology professionals. The successful candidate will join Oberlin at a time of significant positive change. Working with the new Chief Information Officer and other members of the CIT members to shape Oberlin digital transformation and CIT organizational strategy. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month continuing position reporting to the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Ability to manage a team of digital infrastructure professionals and provide direction and guidance to achieve the college’s technology goals.
  • Project management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and deliver infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term technology plans and strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical skills: Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including managing users, devices, and services, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
  • Experience with Active Directory: Knowledge of how to integrate Microsoft 365 with on-premises Active Directory environments.
  • Cloud computing experience: Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud-based solutions, such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Identity Access Management: Understanding of account, access, and service provisioning using cloud-based services such as Azure Active Directory and Okta.
  • Networking & Security: Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Understanding of security concepts, including threat protection, data protection, and identity management.
  • Continuous learning: A willingness to stay up to date with new Microsoft 365 features and capabilities and to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in leadership roles within digital technology.
  • Strong technical expertise in digital systems, applications, and infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 implementation and administration, as well as Google Workspace.
  • Experience with identity management, particularly Okta and/or Microsoft Identity.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
  • Capability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills: Proficient in conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with PowerShell: Proficient in automating Microsoft 365 administration tasks using PowerShell.

Compensation
Within the range established for this Administrative and Professional Staff position, salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Compensation includes an excellent benefits package including tuition benefits for eligible children to attend Oberlin College and many other institutions. This position would have the opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule.
