Manual Machinist - Starts at $32 - $37 per hour

Lake Shore Cryotronics, Inc. is a global leader in the development of high-performance tools for the characterization of materials in temperature and magnet environments. We have a need for an experienced mid to senior-level Manual Machinist to contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of our business. This position will work in our established Woburn, MA location.

The position requires a focus on safety, the ability to use a computer, the ability to lift up to 70lbs, attention to detail, and high level of comfort with manual lathes and prototrak milling machines.

Some Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Machining custom parts on a manual lathe and prototrak milling machines
• Machining parts out of stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass
• Trimming tubes to length from ¼” OD up to ~20” OD
• Cutting stock from bar and plate
• Trueing up sub-assembles in the manufacturing process
• Making jigs and fixtures as needed
• Reworking assemblies to customize and insure proper fits
• Assist in training other machinists

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• A technical or trade school diploma (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 + years’ experience of direct or relevant experience
• A desire to contribute to a collaborative team culture
• Detail orientation
• Ability to use computers
• Qualified candidates are expected to be capable of assessing proper setup, fixturing, cutting feeds and speeds, and selecting equipment and tooling to work a variety of materials into finished goods
