Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer. Our vision for this position is to ensure mechanical and electromechanical equipment and systems are designed, installed, and maintained in such a manner that will promote a high degree of reliability to meet and exceed process requirements by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with planning and design staff on equipment design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Develop scopes of work and specifications for procurement and installation of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate equipment according to specifications and quality standards.
- Work with Purchasing, Accounting, and Legal departments to execute purchase agreements; interface with contractors and vendors; validate completion of project deliverables; and approve invoices for payment.
- Research and analyze data such as equipment design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design and application.
- Design mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems as well as instruments and controls.
- Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure equipment and systems conform to engineering design and specifications.
- Coordinate maintenance, and repair activities with production operations to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Design components for modification and upgrade of machinery.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate equipment capability to meet future manufacturing requirements.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited four-year college or university. A minimum of three years of experience supporting manufacturing processes, or an equivalent combination of education and experience/training.
Pluses: Experience with process utilities, instrumentation, PLC programming, CAD; proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
