This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program.

• Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: Full Time
• Gain valuable professional experience as a Medical Assistant working with veterans, Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists and Audiologists.
• Administrative Assistant duties required, as well.

Your Daily Responsibilities:

• Greet the veterans and verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
• Screen veteran with questions adhering to all COVID protocols and procedures and only send veteran back for visit if they pass all questions.
• Perform EKG’s, ABI’s, PFT’s (spirometry) and lab draws.
• Training will be required and offered for all staff members performing PFT’s.
• EKG manuals are available on-site so staff are familiar with the equipment.
• Effectively manage office functions, including answering phones, supply inventory, keeping the facility tidy, and other duties as assigned.
• Assist practitioners with ensuring exam entry is complete within 24 hours.
• Record and report any no-show appointments.
• Assist Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists and Audiologists in clinic with other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications of Medical Assistant:

• Earned Associate Degree in Medical Field.
• Phlebotomy Experience Required.
• Preferred experience with EKG’s, PFT’s and ABI’s.
• BLS
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• All applicants must be fully vaccinated per the CDC and State guidelines.
