Our team is seeking a Medical Provider [NP, PA, MD/DO] to provide whole-person care to people struggling with addiction. This includes treatment of substance use disorders in our opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD) programs, providing medication-assisted treatment in collaboration with our behavioral health team. Through our Responsive Care services, you will provide comprehensive medical and mental health services to our members, similar in scope to urgent and primary care services. In this role, you will interact with members and families, referral sources, field staff, and the local community-based organizations with whom we partner. You will work side by side with our licensed substance use and mental health counselors, helping our members find their way through their individualized recovery journey. Your work is essential to the member and your constant feedback will be expected to help them have the best outcome possible. Your support will allow members to receive quality care in their communities and help make a better life within reach.
Your work will be a combination of telehealth and in-person care at partner sites within the community. We offer access to care to our members between the hours of 9 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday, and from 1PM to 5 PM on Saturdays. We offer full-time, part-time and hourly positions.
Responsibilities for Medical Providers include, but are not limited to:
- Performing medical evaluations and initiation of medications for OUD and AUD
- Diagnosing and treating medical and mental health complaints at the level of a primary or urgent care provider
- Co-facilitating group therapy and medical education meetings with a licensed counselor
- Demonstrating and communicating the core values of Better Life Partners
- Participating in Better Life Partners and their community research and public health partners research and data collection efforts
- Collaborating with Better Life Partners’ interdisciplinary teams on case management and care coordination efforts
- Adhering to professional and ethical work standards
- Maintaining compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations
- Attending and engaging in regular training and company meetings
Qualifications for a Medical Provider:
- Massachusetts License as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathy (additional state licenses in New Hampshire, Vermont, and/or Maine a plus)
- Active DEA in states in which you hold a license
- Several years of experience in practice of addiction medicine or psychiatry, primary or urgent care
- Strong affinity with and compassion for people and community suffering from addiction
- Willingness to travel locally in Massachusetts
- Providers in the following areas or who find the following areas easily accessible are strongly preferred: Western MA provider - Northampton/Amherst/Springfield/Westfield/Pittsfield; Central MA provider - Quabbin/Marlboro; Eastern MA provider; Boston
- Providers should be fully prepared for a hybrid work model: spending a portion of time seeing members virtually but also be mobile and willing to see members at any of our Massachusetts partner locations. Reasonable travel likely expected. Strong preference given to candidates that feel comfortable and capable with managing mental health conditions

This is an exempt, salaried position.
- The starting salary range for full-time physician assistants and nurse practitioners is $108k - $141k annually.
- The starting salary range for full-time physicians is $195k to $255k annually.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel locally within the communities we serve.
- Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
- Company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset) plus a remote work stipend.
- Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
- Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.
