About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for an Medical Receptionist for a Sarasota based healthcare provider that delivers services to the local senior community through low-cost Medicare Advantage plans. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for checking patients in and out of the clinic with the goal of creating a welcoming environment in the front office for all patients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Answering phone calls and emails
• Helping patients schedule appointments
• Collecting and store medical information from patients
• Maintaining EMRs and physical filing systems
• Checking-in and checking-out patients
• Entering charges and payments
• Verifying patient insurance and demographics
• Collecting of copayments/coinsurance and personal balances
• Taking patient histories and vital signs
• Preparing exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
• Giving injections, applies splints, and dressings, and may collecte specimens
• Preparing and maintaining supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Coordinating continuity of patient care with external healthcare organizations and facilities and referrals from the primary care provider to a specialty care provider

About You

The ideal candidate is a warm and friendly individual, who wants to learn and grow in the role, and who takes pride in ensuring that each patient has a great visit in the clinic, with the following preferred qualifications:

• Certification Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 1 year of medical front office experience
• Experienced with coding and billing
• Managed care experience (Medicare Advantage)
• Phlebotomy skills (preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross) or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
