Glen-Gery, one of the nation's leading brick manufacturers, is looking for a talented and experienced Millwright to join the team at the Marseilles, IL plant location.

The Millwright will be responsible for all plant preventative maintenance, and repair as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical problems.

Duties may include:

• Ensure functionality of machinery and equipment by completing maintenance requirements to ensure minimum plant downtime
• Identifying and repairing problematic machines as well as analyze and interpret technical procedures
• Review service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service on plant equipment
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and lubricate all plant equipment as assigned. Rebuild and/or replace pipelines, fittings, and fixtures in the plant.
• Performing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn parts, lubricating mechanical parts, and assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory
• Using machinery or equipment such as forklifts to move mechanical parts. Use a variety of hand power tools and heavy machinery in performing duties
• Follow all required work safe practices including lock-out tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas

Key Skills and Experience Required

• Proven working knowledge and abilities of welding and cutting, including electrode selection, flat and overhead welding, joint preparation, proper penetration, and safe use of equipment
• Experienced in operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, hand tools, equipment, and machinery
• Possesses knowledge of the operation of all plant machinery with a willingness to learn and take direction
• Can work independently on repairs and follow written and verbal instruction when performing such repairs
• Must keep assigned areas operating at peak performance. Work with machine operators and other maintenance personnel on preventative maintenance
• Demonstrates working knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshoot and repair simple electrical circuits
• Demonstrates working knowledge of all plant hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Troubleshoots and repair simple hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Inspects all plant equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, and request parts as needed.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprint and make basic sketches, fabricate, assemble, and erect new plant equipment
• Read and interpret basic electrical schematics and engineering blueprints
• Preparing and submitting maintenance reports

Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial maintenance or completed an accredited Millwright certificate or training program with Industrial Manufacturing experience.
• 4 + years recent and relevant experience working within an Industrial Manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work irregular shifts and weekends as required
• Must pass a maintenance knowledge exam

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
