Job Summary/Description:

Are you a highly motivated and talented Producer/MMJ looking for an exciting opportunity? Look no further than WIS News in Columbia, South Carolina! We're on the hunt for someone with a passion for news and a knack for producing high-quality, engaging content across all platforms.

As a Producer/MMJ, you'll be responsible for reporting and creating news stories for TV, web, and social media. You'll work closely with our team to develop original content that resonates with our audience. You will also be responsible for Producing newscasts, or portions of newscasts, as part of your weekly schedule. We're looking for someone who can juggle multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively with others.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Producing and reporting news stories for all platforms
• Producing newscasts
• Shooting video for and editing stories written by other journalists
• Developing and maintaining contacts and sources in the community
• Conducting interviews and gathering information from a variety of sources
• Writing scripts and copy for on-air and online use
• Shooting and editing video for news stories
• Producing content for social media platforms
• Identifying, researching, and developing original news content
• Attending editorial meetings and contributing story ideas
• Operating live shots and other field equipment

Qualifications/Requirements:

• To be considered for this position, you'll need a bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, at least 2 years of experience as a producer, reporter, or multimedia journalist, and strong writing, reporting, and storytelling skills. You should also be proficient in shooting and editing video, knowledgeable about social media platforms, and able to work well under pressure.
