DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Supervisor and Coordinator in the collection of data, maintain contract requirements, organize and facilitate classes throughout San Bernardino County, and provide individual face to face case management based on risk and assessed need.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Facilitate Nurturing Parent and Child Enrichment classes.
  • Prepare class room location and all class room materials in preparation for each class. Have class materials readily available in appropriate quantities at all times.
  • Assist the Program Supervisor in meeting all contract requirements
  • Maintain class logs and tracking system to document classes completed by clients
  • Administer Family Development Matrix (FDM), Write and implement Family Empowerment Plans (FEP), write case notes.
  • Responsible for researching and coordinating services to meet the needs of participants as directed by Program Director or Program Supervisor (i.e. housing, employment, education, mental health)
  • Assist young parents with community referrals for all related services and assisting parents with accessing referrals, providing transportation as needed.
  • Assist the Coordinator with collection of data
  • Represent Walden’s Nurturing Parent Program in the community and attend required community, county and First 5 meetings
  • Assist in community outreach events
  • Research potential training tools and program enhancements.
  • At all times projects a favorable image of Walden Family Services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • The position requires that the individual have excellent public speaking and communication skills. Experience in delivering clinically-based training. Available evenings and some Saturdays. Good organization skills. Ability to write training curriculum. Ability to communicate with individuals from diverse multicultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Attend Nurturing Families classes and additional training, workshops, and meetings as required in the contract.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have a good driving record.
  • Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearances from the Department of Justice.
  • Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to hiring employees by a licensed community care facility.

EMPLOYEE STATUS: Full Time (32 Hours) – Non-Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $23.00 PER HOUR - The beginning wage will be commensurate with education and experience.
