Ophthalmic Technician Overview:
Retina Northwest Ophthalmic Technicians are responsible for assisting in the care, treatment, and education for ophthalmology patients. Ophthalmic Technicians conduct patient screening, patient communication & education, obtain patient history, document in EHR, maintain patient confidentiality, and maintain exam rooms and inventory. Ophthalmic Technicians assist our Ophthalmologists in preparing patients for examination, performing diagnostic testing, ocular measurements, visual acuity, color vision, stereopsis, and intraocular pressures as directed by a physician.

Education – COT, COA, OSC, CMA, EMT certifications preferred, HS Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience – Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred; key boarding ability of 45 wpm, EHR experience preferred (NextGen experience desirable), knowledge of ophthalmic medical office procedures specific to a vitreo-retinal practice highly desirable.
