Neer McD's mission is to provide top-notch intellectual property legal services to its client family and increase accessibility to intellectual property information. We are looking for a full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to commit to our mission and work towards growing the firm. This is a professional position offered in a hybrid or fully remote work environment for independent worker that is highly organized and open to learning new technologies and software.
Responsibilities
- Assisting research and drafting on trademark availability reports
- Preparing filings and related support, such as trademark applications, copyright filings, statements of use, office action responses, renewals, powers of attorney, etc.
- Organizing files, contacts, and communications
- Communicating with clients, foreign associates, and outside vendors as needed
- Routing documents through state departments and consulates for legalization as needed
- Attending to docketing, calendaring, and related follow up
- Managing domestic and international trademark portfolios, policing, disputes, enforcement, TTAB proceedings, copyright, take-downs, domain name dispute procedures, and due diligence
Qualifications
- At least 3 years experience at a law firm or in-house managing a trademark portfolio
- Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certification is desirable
- Experience with trademark searching, clearance, and enforcement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-work volume environment
- Strong attention to detail
