Title: Production Lead - 2nd Shift

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Overall Description:

Per company policies and procedures, and at the direction of the Production Supervisor, performs daily training of personnel in a manufacturing environment as needed. During the Production Supervisor’s absence, is responsible for assignment of personnel, setting of expectations, and ensuring materials, supplies, tools and equipment are available to meet production needs. Effectively communicate with Production Supervisor to ensure customer demands are met and shipping performance goals are attained.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

· Daily supervision of production, trimming and other personnel as assigned.

· Perform first shift start-up and/or last shift shut down per documented procedure using delegation where appropriate.

· Assign and re-assign personnel as needed to meet changing product demand.

· Using established procedures ensure that all supplies, production materials and special tools, both purchased and in-house produced, are maintained at proper levels to prevent any delay or disruption in production.

· Train personnel, either personally, or through assignment to other capable personnel, ensuring that effective and timely learning is accomplished.

· Continually observe and evaluate production processes for improvement, making changes as authorized or submitting requests to management for approval.

· Monitor production and facility equipment and expedite maintenance and repair as required using internal and external resources.

· Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices

· Monitor and maintain all safety equipment

· Conduct 5s, lean and safety audits as per schedule

· Follow through on corrective action for audit findings as needed

· Other responsibilities as assigned

Experience and Education:

· Good written and verbal communication skills required

· Basic math skills required

· Previous leadership experience or training required

· Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement knowledge a plus

· Military Background a plus

Hours:

Second Shift

Monday -Friday: 3:30 pm - 2:00am

Wages:Starting at $19 per hour

Benefits:

15 minute break, and 10 minute break - Paid

1/2 hour lunch - Unpaid

Paid Weekly

Health Insurance eligible after 60 Days

Vacation: 1 week after 90 days, 2 weeks after three years, 3 weeks after 5 years

Holiday pay available after 90 Days

Retirement: Simple Plan 3% Employer Match

Production Efficiency, Attendance and Christmas Bonuses are available to those that qualify.

A 4- Panel pre-employment drug screen is required.
