Parsons is now hiring a Project Controls Manager for our NASA Goddard program and portfolio of other projects.
Your extensive experience in this field combined with your strong cost and schedule experience will propel your career forward with the opportunity to lead the team. We need our Project Control Engineers at this level to be fully qualified professionals with solid experience, enthusiastic to support design and construction projects from planning and programming through occupancy or completed deliverables. In this role you will monitor our team members’ performance to assure the schedule and funding objectives are met or appropriate adjustments are made and communicated to our management team. In addition, you will track performance against project budget to ensure costs are in line with the percentage of scope of work underway and in comparison to the original estimates. Keys to your success will be your competency in project controls and desire to lead project control efforts on a large scale projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
- Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides statistical reports.
- Provides project and company management with the necessary tools for project cost control.
- May lead in the: Development of the work breakdown structure, interfacing with all affected departments; Analysis, evaluation, forecast, and reporting of schedule status against an established baseline; Analysis, evaluation, and forecast project costs and performance.
- Accumulates and accesses historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
- May lead a staff qualified to assess the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages.
- Maintains an established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keeps project and company management fully informed.
- Customizes project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
- May support business development efforts by gathering and presenting a variety of background data. Presentations may be of an informal or formal nature.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
- BS in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or related degree (or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years of related project controls experience, preferably with large scale infrastructure, industrial, Federal, or construction projects
- Track record of developing and managing schedules and budgets
- Experience with engineering and/or construction cost estimating a plus
- Must have potential to perform in a lead capacity
- Proficient with Project Controls software, primarily Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel experience is a must.
