JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for oversight of development, implementation, and sustainability, of multiple manufacturing sites’ Quality System.
- Understand customer’s needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Support the development and qualification of food-packaging processes, to ensure capability to meet new and emerging customer expectations.
- Ensures plant quality system and certifications are in line with regulatory compliance.
- Drive the company’s Quality Policy. Lead and participate in business improvement efforts for the sites.
- Developing and improving the capabilities of the plant employees and Quality team.
- Interact with Customers and Suppliers on quality and performance issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:
- Ensure that plant is following our corporate quality systems
- Responsible for managing the Food Safety & Security programs
- Manage the HACCP programs for the sites
- Audit for compliance to our company’s GMP policies
- Ensure testing standards, procedures, and equipment provide reliable results and prevent shipment of off-quality products
- Create, manage, and audit control plans for all products
- Manage the calibration program
- Train, mentor, and develop Quality Technicians and peers, to apply Quality tools (i.e., SPC, PFMEA, Center-lining Process, Control Plans, 5-Why (DMAIC) Problem-Solving, etc.)
- Lead problem-solving and process improvement processes with manufacturing and the customer to achieve resolution and elimination of current product issues
- Provide plant level leadership for continuous improvement resulting in productivity gains from doing it right the first time
- Audit plant for compliance to standards for; sanitation, product safety, and quality systems
- Serve as GFSI / SQF Practitioner (applies to SQF certified plants)
- Ensure that site meets external requirements of customers and regulatory agencies
- Provide for successful new product launches, by ensuring clear specification development, process capability definition, and attainment of customer satisfaction on initial shipments
- Provide leadership to direct reports in accordance with company’s Guiding Principles
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are minimum requirements for the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, and 7+ years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven leadership skills with capability to lead and influence change.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
PC literate, proficient with MS Office, MS Team, JDE, Outlook.
Statistical Process Capability understanding and experience
Detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to deal with multiple challenges and projects simultaneously
Ability to work accurately from verbal and written instructions
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Preferred: HACCP, ASQ certification(s), 6 Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing
