Care First Rehabilitation is looking for a reliable, caring, professional individual to join our growing team. We have six Adult Foster Care homes (group homes), as well as a Day Program that our clients attend during the week days. The ideal candidate is efficient and able to multi-task in a changing and at times, fast-paced, environment. This person must be reliable, compassionate, and have the ability to work well as a team.

Rehabilitation Technician (previously referred to as Direct Care Worker)

The Rehabilitation Tech. performs routine patient care duties under direct supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Being able to work 12 hour shifts in each of our 6 AFC homes (homes are located in Troy AND Farmington Hills)
• Being available to work every other weekend
• Being available to attend our week long, mandatory training starting May 15th
• Direct Care work in Licensed Adult Foster Care Homes that specialize in Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation.
• Experience in Conflict Resolution (CPI certified Preferred - verbal interventions)
• Experience in PEG Tub feedings, Hoyer transfer, bowel program, personal hygiene, pressure relief.
• Assisting clients with activities of daily living and encourages independent behavior with appropriate interventions on a daily basis.
• Providing care to clients in a manner that considers safety, clients’ rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
• Identifying verbal and non-verbal cues for potential aggressive behaviors and uses the necessary intervention to de-escalate the client appropriately.
• Representing the facility in a manner that conveys a professional, courteous, caring, and cooperative attitude.
• Being dynamic and able to stay productive in a fast paced environment.
