The role you’ll contribute:

Under the direction of the program manager, the RN, communicates and collaborates closely with physicians, outpatient and inpatient nurse managers, other CWH staff and other members of the health care team to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the RN accepts responsibility and accountability for assigned patients as the case manager to plan, implement and evaluate the care for adult and geriatric clients. The RN works within the framework of the hospitals policies and procedures and the Center for Wound Healing.

• Actively keep patients informed of anticipated responses to treatment
• Adheres to guidelines or standards of practice, community, associate hospital, and all current CWH policies and procedures.
• Assumes active role in CWH by participating at staff meetings and other center related activities; reviews minutes when unable to attend
• Assumes patient advocate role protecting all patient rights
• Attends all mandatory education programs and some additional continuing professional education functions to enhance skills and knowledge
• Consistently responds to internal and external customers in a professional manner
• Delegates tasks to appropriate skill level providing needed supervision for quality follow-through
• Demonstrates competence in patient and family education in topics of wound care

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Two years' experience in acute care nursing
• Current Florida RN License
• Current BLS
• Certified wound specialist or CWOCN (preferred)
