Description:

Work is supporting the Spring Hill Battery Pack Assembly project (BEV RES 3), which is a completely new process in Spring Hill to support the future of EV builds for GM. The equipment that's getting installed is currently getting build by ATS in Columbus, OH, and will be moved in two phases to Spring Hill in the later months - Main Line will come in September 2022; additional modules will come late 2022/early 2023. For this reason there is heavy travel to ATS/Columbus, OH for majority of 2022 and in 2023 the positions will be primarily based on of Spring Hill. The equipment getting installed is - Allen Bradley PCs, FANUC Robots with iRVision, and Matrox cameras.

FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Robotics Engineer is responsible for supporting new design, build and start-up of new plants. Work is performed in an assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

• Project implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
• Help manage Robot deliveries to program timing milestones
• Quality and thru-put improvement
• Support plant requests for improvements as well as operations during the launch phase (robot programming and troubleshooting)
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with plant engineers and skill trades
• Design and troubleshooting of electrical Robotics and vision systems

Job Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with major in engineering or equivalent experience/training, preferred; however, experience in place of degree is more than acceptable
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple challenging projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
• Proven ability in project management skills
• Multiple different manufacturing controls and/or robotics assignments with successful individual achievements
