Safety Administrator Job at Cargomatic
What You’ll Do
The ideal candidate will need to have the ability to travel to our Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA locations when necessary. The candidate will need to have experience in working with human resources, transportation, and safety divisions. You will be responsible for executing daily tasks including recruiting, prescreening, and interviewing driver candidates.
- Serve as the initial contact for all driver applicants
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Locate owner-operator candidates who meet DOT and company standards
- Maintain and promote DOT compliance during recruitment and hiring process
- Complete candidate files for review by the Safety Department for approval
- Develop and oversee recruiting or referral programs
- Onboard new hires as well as schedule driver orientation and road tests
- Review driving and safety records and build qualification file
- Perform other duties as assigned, such as ELD/Dash cam installation
What You’ll Need
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Prior driver onboarding experience
- Ability to work well under pressure and requiring minimal supervision
- Demonstrate a professional attitude at all times
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
