North Fork Builders, a Bozeman, Montana based general contractor, is currently hiring a Safety Director to join our team.

As a Safety Director your primary responsibilities centers on the successful development, implementation, and support of the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) in the field. You will verify to ensure that work is being executed as planned, problem-solve with operations and craft, assist with corrective measures, and provide resources to correct and maintain solutions to reduce and prevent accidents on site.

Location
Our main office and shop are in Bozeman, MT. We have projects throughout the state from Kalispell to Big Timber. Travel to jobsites is required.

Responsibilities*

• Develop, review, update, and communicate the SSSP to everyone including subcontractors
• Collaborate with the field every day to encourage buy-in of our safety program
• Conduct jobsite safety audits to ensure the SSSP is being followed and enforced
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, and detailed work plans
• Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations in the field every day based on leading indicator trends and upcoming work
• Encourage, support, inspire, and advise employees to execute the SSSP
• Conduct safety trainings including Forklift, Manlift, Scaffolding, OSHA 10/30/40, etc.
• Maintain DOT Driver files and annual DOT requirements
• Acquisition, distribution, and inventory of all safety equipment
• Maintain project files in compliance with OSHA regulations and in compliance with our policies
• Maintain accident/injury claims, files, and OSHA 300 logs, assist with investigations, and develop return to work program include Workers Compensation.
• Assist with insurance renewals and audits

QUALIFICATIONS

• The ability to travel to all North Fork Builders jobsites
• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study is preferred
• Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements
• Experience working in the vertical commercial and/or residential construction industries
• Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is preferred
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done

• High level of initiative and ability to work independently as well as a part of a team
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
