Full Job Description:

The Clarksburg Wine Company, founded in 2010, is a boutique winery located in the Old Sugar Mill complex, Fifteen minutes from downtown Sacramento. While we make a several different varietals, our goal is to make the finest Chenin Blanc in America, and we believe we do!

We are looking for people who like people, and who understand that unfailing customer service is the top priority of ANY sales position. If you have past wine experience, great! If you don’t, but have a desire to learn, we will teach you all you need to know to excel in sales in our tasting room.

We are located within the Old Sugar Mill, in Clarksburg, California, 15 minutes south of downtown Sacramento.

We are filling positions for Saturdays and Sunday, with occasional weekdays possible if your schedule allows. Weekend availability, however, is essential.

Shifts normally fall between 10:00am and 6:00pm, with most from 12:00-5:30 pm

This job is an active, on-your-feet job.

• Shifts usually run 4 hours or longer, and is an active ON YOUR FEET job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide UNFAILING customer service.
• Be Nice to our customers and your fellow employees.
• Selling wine.
• Greet all visitors to the tasting room and pour wines for tasting
• Create a positive memorable experience for the guests
• Provide general tourist information
• Handle routine sales transactions, including operating POS and accounting of daily sales
• Assist with display and stocking of retail items and wines
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of facilities
• Assist with special events as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum, commitment of two weekend days/month, need not be consecutive.
• Schedule will be assigned monthly
• Table service experiment a plus
• wine experience a plus!*
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 45 lbs.
• Must be able to work at least 5 hours standing
• Works well in a team setting
• Must have professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be able to work with diverse population and with cultural sensitivity
• Must be comfortable using computer systems including PC/Tablet/Smartphone

Informal wine education will be provided on the job, and in training meetings.
