Simmons Knife & Saw, a leading manufacturer of high quality blades since 1946, is seeking a well-organized, customer centric, highly motivated Bilingual Territory Manager/Sales Representative to join our team. We proudly serve the foam, wood, pallet, leather, packaging, metal fabrication and food processing industries.

As we continue to penetrate and find success in the marketplace, we are in search of an individual with exceptional relationship building skills and strong sales abilities to manage a sales territory that includes an established customer base in the Southwestern US and Mexico while developing new business in a largely undeveloped South American territory. The successful candidate must feel comfortable with immersion into other cultures and possess a combination of business development with industrial sales and technical experience. He/She needs to be highly motivated to evaluate and develop new markets while balancing existing customer needs and helping them further grow their business.

This position requires up to 35% travel within the Southwestern US and Latin America. And will also require visits to our corporate office in Glendale Heights, IL 3-4 times per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Grow the business within the territory using a sales process with agreed upon measurable activities that demonstrate progress towards key metrics.

· Maintain and expand customer base by building and continuing rapport with key customers; providing appropriate training and support to distributors and identifying new customer opportunities.

· Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers.

· Build, track and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities to closure.

· Complete cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.

· Develop and implement the company’s plan to manage product mix, pricing, costs and margin to maximize sales and profitability.

· Update customer relationship management (CRM) software daily with details of customer/prospect calls, emails and appointments.

· Regularly meet with Director of Sales & Marketing to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.

· Provide input on required resources and suggested action plans to effectively penetrate new target markets.

· Attend industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing clients. Conduct thorough follow-up with territory leads after the close of the shows.

· Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth. Includes identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.

· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.

· Plan and arrange business travel and accommodations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales role (business to business), preferably in industrial applications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish), both verbal and written communications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of building business and hitting sales targets.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Physically stand for extended periods of time during exhibitions.
  • Understanding of ISO and Lean helpful.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 35% of the time.
  • Base salary + commission and bonus
