Cypress Assisted Living is seeking a staff developer/scheduler in Anacortes, WA. This opportunity is for a lead CNA or HCA interested in supporting the growth and development of fellow caregivers.

The qualified candidate has experience in a long term care setting, excellent interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to teach and train staff in such a manner that they are left with confidence in their ability to deliver extraordinary patient care.

Job Overview

The CNA or HCA in this position is responsible for scheduling and staff development. This leader teaches by example assisting Med-Techs and CareGivers with the administration of medications, treatments and resident care as needed.

Job Duties

  • Creates and maintains the daily, weekly and monthly caregiving schedule
  • Coordinates the hiring, onboarding and orientation of new staff in partnership with facility leaders
  • Monitors staff competencies and provides training and support as needed through workshops, and in-vitro trainings.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations through the training and development of staff.
  • Documents and keeps accurate training records
  • Administers medications in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
  • Administers and applies treatments using proper technique.
  • Assist MedTechs and CareGivers with med pass, treatments and resident care as needed.
  • Works in partnership with facility leadership to deliver extraordinary patient care.
  • Maintains a strong relationship with affiliated providers and actively participates in the facilities Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Program.
  • Duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

Education/Training: Current CNA or HCA license required, Current CPR Card Required MedTech certification preferred (we are happy to train you)

Skills: Knowledge of basic ADL’s and Assisted Living regulatory requirements. Assisted Living experience prefered. Computer skills required to complete daily, weekly and monthly schedule. Excellent interpersonal communication skills required.

  • Support, coordinate with, and implement specific procedures and programs for: Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety disaster plans, risk management and security, report and/or correcting unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
  • Ensures the confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data.
  • Supports and participates in the development of a cohesive team. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
  • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
  • Promotes customer service with residents, family members and guests.
  • Adheres to requirements for in-service training; attendance, uniform, department and dress code policies, including personal hygiene, and completes other work duties as assigned.
