Description/Job Summary

Secures network by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks, securing highly sensitive data and testing security systems; preparing security standards, policies, and procedures; mentoring team members.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Engineers, implements, and monitors security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.
  • Identifies and defines system security requirements.
  • Prepares and documents standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Configures and troubleshoots security infrastructure devices.
  • Develops technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
  • Ensures that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents.
  • Writes comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Preferred Skills

  • Skill in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
  • Skill with network technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • Ability to understanding the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Ability to work with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge in building and maintaining security systems.
  • Knowledge of detailed, technical database and operating system security.
  • Preferred experience with the following:
    Antivirus
    EDR/MDR
    Email security
    Social Engineering
    IDS/IPS
    Threat Intelligence
    Cloud computing
    SIEM/Log Management
    Vulnerability Management
    Forensics

Preferred Education

A Bachelor's degree in computer information management, computer science or other related fields or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

CompTIA CASP+, (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Expert (GSE), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other equivalent certifications or work experience.
