Senior Advancement Officer Job at Warner University
Position Summary: The main responsibility of the Senior Advancement Officer is to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward noteworthy philanthropic relationships who will support the mission of Warner University. This role works closely with the advancement team to continue to build enthusiastic relationships and grow support for the University’s mission. This role is involved in growing unrestricted giving, capital projects, scholarships and other programmatic support. The officer will be expected to create strategized annual plans that tie to the overall goals of Warner and move forward with execution of these plans with limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift donors to secure annual and multi-year gifts.
● Create relationships through personal visits and communication with major donors and prospects for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
● Oversee and create communications, promotions, and public relations to achieve goals and objectives.
● Utilize Blackbaud NXT platform to maintain donor records, track goals, and analyze data.
● Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies specific to alumni and lost donors.
● Work with businesses and foundations to discover, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts.
● Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
● Perform prospect research to create and cultivate a prospect pool to be solicited in a 12-18-month period.

● Collaborative problem solver and innovator.
● Blackbaud NXT experience and research knowledge abilities preferred.
● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
● Strong writing, editing, proofreading and conceptual design skills.
● Education/Training – a Master’s degree is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is required.
● Preferred experience – at least five years’ experience in a related field.
● Knowledge of digital marketing campaigns and strategies and social media tools.
● Supportive of Warner’s mission, vision and core values, committed to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models.
● Ability to pass a background check.
Working Relationships: Member of the Advancement team reporting to the VP for Advancement & Admissions.
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri; occasional weekends. Ability to travel frequently. Additional hours as needed for significant department or University events.
