Position Overview
As a Senior Bookkeeper you will perform a variety of tasks, including recording monthly transactions, performing complex reconciliations, and communicating any questions, concerns or comments to the Account Manager, Reviewers, and the Operations Team. Additionally, Senior Bookkeepers may perform special projects as assigned. Ultimately, you should be able to handle the completion of recurring and non-recurring tasks & projects and deliver high-precision work under limited supervision. This role works in conjunction with the Account Manager, who communicates directly with clients, but the Bookkeeper is ultimately responsible for ensuring the completion of the work.
Work Responsibilities
Monthly Bookkeeping
- Record all monthly transactions and journal entries
- Reconcile accounts
- Send questions and requests for the client to the Account Manager to send to the client
- Track 1099s, complete bill-pay, contractor payments, etc. as assigned
- Creating and executing complicated accounting projects as needed
Special Projects
- Receive information & training on the particular client & project scope
- Perform project tasks within time frame allotted
- Annual Bookkeeping tasks to complete Annual Financial Reports for tax filing
Requirements & Competencies
- Must be motivated to learn & develop skills
- Prior experience with complex bookkeeping, including non-profit budgeting, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, class/location tracking, etc. required
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with clients and team members
- Strong skills in presenting information in a clear, concise, and helpful way
- Strong sense of personal responsibility, proactively owning mistakes and learning from them
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate projects, goals and deadlines

Experience:
- Accounting: 2+ years (Required)
- Bookkeeping: 5+ years (Required)
- QuickBooks Online: 5+ years (Required)
License/Certification: QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification (Required) & Advanced Certification (Preferred)
