Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with financial planning and analysis experience to join our finance organization. This Senior Financial Analyst, End-to-End Stores will be responsible for supporting financial processes and cross-functional partnerships for our Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores. Specific responsibilities include supporting continuous planning and forecasting, P&L analysis & reporting, as well as ad hoc requests supporting key investments for our business and understanding key drivers of business performance.

This is a Hybrid Seattle position, where you will need to work 2 days/week in one of our downtown Seattle corporate office locations. Candidates must be located in/open to relocation to Seattle for this opportunity.

A day in the life…

• Analyze store facilities, maintenance, utilities, and visual spend through P&L reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to ensure transparency and accountability

• Manage key processes and provide business insights and storylines related to the reporting of planning cycles and monthly close results

• Perform monthly reporting that provides insight into past performance (month-end) and future trends (forecast)

• Partner across the broader Finance and Stores teams to anticipate future business challenges and opportunities

• Use a variety of data sources to enhance and build detailed financial models, track & analyze operations KPIs, and uncover trends

• Act as a key finance contact to the business and communicate effectively with non-financial leaders

• Work directly with Regional Facilities Managers and Directors to discuss P&L results, understand opportunities, and drive financial results

• Analyze data to drive actionable outcomes

• Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned, synthesize, and clearly communicate findings to support leadership-level decisions

• Proactively drive improvements and simplify existing reporting, forecasting, and continuous planning processes

You own this if you have…

• 5+ years of related experience

• BA/BS Degree in Finance or Accounting

• Proven experience in analysis, modeling, and reporting financial performance, with a strong sense of curiosity

• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and timelines

• Proficiency in Excel, including model building and complex formula writing (examples include, but are not limited to: Index Match, SUMIFS, XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)

• Proficiency in PowerPoint; translating data into a meaningful story in a presentation format

• Experience with Hyperion-Essbase, Anaplan, and/or Tableau a plus

• Ability to independently develop processes and deliverables

• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

• Attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy
