Founded on February 25, 2002, we have 20 years of experience as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving low income, underinsured, uninsured, publicly housed, and homeless populations in 35 cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts.
Under the general supervision of the IT Manager, the Sr. IT Specialist provides hardware, software, telephone and training support to all of CHC.
Essential Duties and Major responsibilities:
- Provides hardware, software, and telephone support to CHC’s. staff.
- Provides CHC staff support and training in the use of existing and new technologies, including audio/visual equipment.
- Maintains accurate and timely department records, including inventory of all hardware and software.
- Research, communicate, coordinate, work and project tasks using company hardware and software technologies.
- Works with and direct outside contractors on projects and platform updates and maintenance schedules.
- Assist in the review and deployment of new technology.
- Assist to resolve and document help desk calls.
- Provides backup support to the IT Manager with hardware and software issues.
- Assists with resolution of network problems at or between all CHC service sites, working with the IT Manager and CIO, and vendors as needed to resolve problems.
- Working knowledge of network operations and protocols.
- Detailed knowledge of PC operating systems and desktop applications deployed at CHC.
- The ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.
- Works with other IT staff with knowledge sharing and mentoring.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-years similar work experience required, 8 years’ experience preferred.
- MS Server 2008-2019, MS Exchange, and Office 365 experience a plus
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft productivity platforms
- Understanding of enterprise network topologies and architecture.
- Understands GPO’s, Scripting and Security policies.
- Experience training and working with lower-level IT technical personnel and temporary employees.
- A desire to learn about new technologies in both the data and telephony areas. Knowledge of VoIP a plus.
- Able to interact daily with employees and vendors at varying technical competency levels.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for working in a team-oriented environment.
- Min. High School degree or equivalent
- Ability to work independently within established guidelines to meet end user requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a medical office environment.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot issues off-hours for our medical staff.
