Summary

The Senior Manager, IT Planning position will lead development and activation of a multi-year IT strategy which will be centered around new business models for all GLOVIS entities within Americas Head Quarters (AHQ), with technology as a key enabler. Primary duties will include planning IT strategy to support all AHQ business, finding and deploying new IT technology of platform and cloud, and leading IT projects in an effort to achieve GLOVIS goals.

Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy Planning
    • IT strategic business planning & progress checking align with executives direction new business opportunities for subsidiaries in Americas region under Glovis HQ IT governance
    • Provide strategic justification through the preparation of a business case for each major IT project
    • Liaises with internal stakeholders subsidiary IT counterparts to ensure clear and consistent communication about IT decisions that impact the broader organization
    • Support IT and business partners with budget management, financials, and funding guidance
  • IT Platform & Tech Planning
    • Conduct platform & cloud services sourcing based on the requirements of and in alignment with the strategic interest area of GLOVIS like WMS, TMS, CRM, MS365, etc and deploy the services to subsidiaries in the Americas region
    • Learn and Monitor, present new technology focuses on new business trends (Mobility, Electrification, Connectivity, Autonomous), and create strategic direction from an IT perspective
    • Deliver new valuable content for business and end-user experience (New processes based upon new tech, best practices, IT trend, Case study for proof of concept)
    • Pilot and support scale of new and emerging digitally-enabled logistics and e-business solutions/ business models
  • IT Project Management
    • Provide leadership for planning and tracking all IT project issues and schedules, establishing milestones and assigning AHQ management direction, identifying dependencies, executing, evaluate annual project reporting
    • Align strategies with the overarching IT strategies and advancing technology solutions to support business growth & opportunities
    • Propose and plan projects to explore the new business model and technical competencies relative to GLOVIS's current core technology and business practices.
    • Reporting for upper management concerning all IT projects, improvement
    • Report issues and status to the management with root cause and countermeasure
  • New Business Support
    • Survey and find the best solution for new business proposals, including but not exclusively for Vehicle Logistics, Port Processing, Consolidation Centers, and Sales functions
    • Collaborate with key partners across multiple functions within AHQ to determine opportunity areas in which emerging digital services and/or tools can support the function

Compensation Range

  • $100,000 - $115,000 per year

Skills

  • Bilingual English/Korean Preferred
  • Strong know-how of technology trends. Deep expertise and knowhow in automotive industry-related technology and business processes
  • Understanding of application development, EDI, management reporting, and ERP tools in Database, Programming languages, Analytic tools, Marketing CRMs or customer-facing systems, and SAP are desirable
  • IT system management skills for various logistics business area
  • Strong planning mindset and Strategic and critical thinking
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate and manage multi-skilled personnel
  • Highly analytical and accomplished in presenting to different levels/audiences
  • Deep expertise and knowhow in automotive industry related technology and business processes

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • 8 - 12 Years of Experience in IT or Technology Required
  • Prior Logistics/Automotive Industry Experience Preferred

  • Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
  • Stand/walk
