As a senior UX designer, you’ll work with other UX team members, developers, and cross-functional Marketing Scrum teams as an interaction design expert. Expect to lead and participate in all stages of creating the best possible user experience for our products, from research, ideation, and prototyping through interaction design, user testing, analysis, and front-end markup.
Key Responsibilities
- Steering the ongoing growth, process improvements, and overall success of our product portfolio
- Acting as a consultant across Marketing teams and Commonwealth departments, and building relationships to deliver on business goals
- Acting as a bridge between UX teams, Marketing teams, and the IT department
- Solving for user needs and challenges through creating, prototyping, and refining engaging and intuitive user interface designs in cycles of iterative product development
- Working with internal and external clients, project team members, engineering teams, visual designers, and product management teams to implement required features successfully
- Guiding the creation and evolution of a design system for a component library to be used across Commonwealth digital deliverables
- Communicating and advocating for best-in-class results, methods, and approaches
Core Strengths and Skills
- Thorough understanding of the capabilities of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the ability to review code and provide detailed specs to developers
- Expertise in user-centered design processes, user-interaction design principles, and user-interface design guidelines
- Expertise in usability methodologies, human factors, industry standards and trends, platform standards, and software development processes
- Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment with shifting priorities and a variable workload
- Familiarity with Agile development philosophy and methodologies and the role of UX in Agile development environments
- Knowledge of industry wireframing and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Axure
- 6+ years of experience as a UX designer
