Under the general supervision of the Clinical Field Supervisor and the Medical Director or the Medical Director’s designee, a Polysomnographic Technologist performs routine polysomnographic procedures and comprehensive polysomnographic procedures for which the technologist has been deemed competent by clinical management. Under the direct supervision of Clinical Management or the Corporate Medical Director, a Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive polysomnographic procedures for which the technician is developing competencies. (A Polysomnographic Technologist may provide supervision and training of Polysomnographic Trainees.)
Your Primary Duties and Responsibilities included the following:
Pre-Study Duties: Greet Patient, Gather and Analyze Patient Information. The primary duties for this position involve the collection of data, but the employee must also be able to analyze and score data.

• Act as an ambassador for the company, the physicians and the hospital by greeting the patient in a friendly and professional manner, introducing oneself by name and defusing initial negative comments or interaction in a professional and friendly manner
• Create, promote and maintain a clean and professional environment for patients
• Evaluate which study the patient requires by reviewing the entire medical record, including all documentation provided by the physician’s office and entries made by SleepCare (history and physical, prescriptions, order forms, assessment tools, registration form, study details, study notes, etc)
• Resolve discrepancies in conflicting documentation to assure the provision for appropriate patient services
• Acquire and verify completion of all documents required by the specific location and study type to insure authorization to perform the study and to appropriately bill for services provided
• Orient the patient to the sleep center
• Explain the procedure to the patient
• Adhere to policies during the performance of prescribed procedures
• Maintain complete and detailed documentation during the procedure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.41 - $62.73 per hour
