Job Title: Sourcing Analyst/ Promotional Products

Reports to: Director of Merchandising

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

Duties and responsibilities include being responsible for the effective procurement of all direct material needs within their assigned area, striving to purchase at the best total cost and maintaining our standards of quality and service. Additional responsibilities will include supporting and participating in the development of sourcing strategies, budgeting, competitive assessments, and many other aspects of the sourcing process. Moreover, the analyst will support sourcing initiatives including productivity, new product development, supplier metrics, and on-going data management, etc.

  • Develop catalog levels or collections using established targets for margin, number and type of items, and variety
  • Support efforts to execute on time, on cost, on spec, and on quality to deliver on the needs of the organization
  • Participate in RFI / RFQ Process including new/current supplier assessment, NPD development, productivity opportunities, etc.
  • Prepare RFX’s, analyze data & award business utilizing a Best Total Cost approach
  • Partner with Commodity Sourcing teammates to deliver packaging needs that meet both business and division objectives
  • Understand key areas of use in SAP, manage current and future data within the system, be able to pull data for reporting purposes, troubleshoot system & data issues as needed
  • Lead continued elevation and centralization of business processes through special projects meant to unify sourcing activities throughout the organization
  • Source special one-off items for existing or prospective customers
  • Meet with vendors for new product selection
  • Remain up to date with industry’s best practices
  • Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers’ expectations and company’s objectives
  • Analyze sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock
  • Make recommendations for promotional strategies
  • Review Trello card requests for Corporate Marketplace
  • Source specific branded items from the request based on budget, spec, requirements etc. provided from Sales Team
  • Prepare detailed spreadsheet with product information and formulas to calculate margins for sell to Customer
  • Download hi-res images to be used on proposal
  • Prepare document with images, item copy, Minimums, and sell to send to Graphics so proposal can be created
  • Proof once Graphics returns completed proposal and provide revisions as needed
  • Update Trello card and send completed proposal to requestor
  • Source additional items if needed after Customer reviews proposal if needed
  • Generate item set up for Corporate Marketplace approved requests and proposals
  • Issue purchase orders for corporate marketplace related items when necessary
  • Issue purchase orders for samples as needed
  • Work closely with the graphics department to ensure all art provided and produced is correct
  • All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. or related experience
  • Possess 1-3 years of applicable experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, and or operations or related field
  • ASI (Advertising Specialty Information) Certification is required
