This role is part of the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) Strategic Sourcing team which supports internal stakeholders within the Design and Construction sector. A major client is Facility Asset Management (FAM), a large Project Management organization. The Sourcing Specialist will execute sourcing decisions in selecting service providers to maximize the value of multi-million(s) dollar annual spend, and to mitigate risks through effect contracting processes and negotiations. This includes supporting Supplier Relationship Management, conforming contracts, running ITBs and/ or RFPs, negotiating deals, managing key suppliers, ensuring regulatory compliance, facilitating process improvements and bringing stakeholders together for collaboration to leverage spend; all while keeping the highest level of ethical and work excellence. This position will interface with multiple levels of leadership and contributors primarily, but not exclusively, within the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products segment.
Responsibilities:
- Bid and award professional design (or consulting) and construction contracts for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts project management teams.
- Develop effective strategies by leading cross-functional sourcing projects that meet internal client’s requirements
- Pre-qualify vendors for consideration: analysis of financials, performance, capabilities, certifications, etc.
- Engage all internal stakeholders for key decision making associated to overarching contact and/ or sourcing strategy for portfolio, project/ contract awards and/ or other critical pieces of business coming from the management of open contracts.
- Use of industry knowledge in one and/ or more categories (of design and/ or field-implementation) including, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, life-safety systems, painting and/ or flooring.
- Understand, analyze, assess, and communicate market industry trends and conditions that affect internal stakeholders and external suppliers and/or pricing. Create long term sourcing strategies that fit accordingly.
- Mentor/train interns or newer cast in sourcing process/ procedure.
- Understand and assist in the development and execution of supplier performance and relationship management programs that focus on safety, quality, service responsiveness, financial benefit, and innovation.
- Ability to effectively lead special projects from beginning to end for unique, enterprise specific needs throughout the course of a FY which are in alignment with the Strategic Sourcing’s department objectives and in execution of the FY Annual Sourcing Plan.
Basic Qualifications:
- An ideal candidate will have a three to seven years working in a sourcing specialist, contract administration, and/ or category management role and/ or have relevant work experience in the field of construction: project management and/ or estimating.
- Knowledge of various contract types (Lump Sum, Design Build, Unit – Rate, Guaranteed – Max; etc.) and their appropriate use.
- Experience facilitating an Invitation to Bid from inquiry to contract award and all associated contract management support through close-out.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate potential risk exposure throughout the ITB Process: bid list creation, sourcing strategy development (includes scope/ schedule, etc.) through post bid conversation and award recommendation/ contract issuance.
- Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT for Presentations etc.) to analyze data, prepare and execute contracts and/ or provide summary presentations as needed.
- Communication is consistently clear, concise, and relevant to the audience.
- Ability to adapt communications to variety of leadership and can help / assist with training and guidance of clients on process and procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to develop successful relationships with team members (peers), clients/ internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
- Effectively manage all types of meetings with varied internal and external attendance (prebid, project meetings, post bid conversations, sourcing strategy discussions).
- Experience with executing a Supplier Relationship Management program(s) with critical suppliers.
- Ability to build highly compelling business case
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to conclusion
- Ability to collaborate on ideation and supplier innovation
- Organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple projects
Education:
- Relevant undergraduate degree in the above-mentioned or related fields/disciplines.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree or post-graduate education
- Five plus years of relevant experience
- Relevant certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, DAWIA, Engineering Intern, or equivalents
- Construction and/ or Design expertise and/ or experience: could include years of in-field support: Estimating, Project Management and/or other.
- Demonstrated performance as a subject matter expert in a non-managerial capacity with the ability to manage sourcing projects with higher risks, higher complexity often translating to high value efforts and higher volume of workload.
- Expert in contract and contract negotiations
- Experience with Power BI apps, and/ or Tableau analysis/ dashboard creation
