The Sr. Director of Brand Marketing is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for building a clearly defined marketing and promotional plan that is focused on driving customer growth.
The position will lead a team that develops and executes integrated plans, helping differentiate the company from its competitors by driving Sprouts unique brand position.
This role will focus on strengthening the company’s brand position and drive growth through all channels (includes stores and e-commerce.) and will be responsible for elevating brand awareness and consideration among Sprouts core customers.
This position will lead setting the vision and strategy for the Sprouts Marketing plan providing clear leadership and motivational coaching for the brand team and broader organization on brand positioning, campaign development and customer messaging strategies.
This highly collaborative role will work closely with the Merchant Team to deliver marketing plans that effectively work towards achieving business goals. This includes developing a clear, cross-functional planning process that is rooted in data and insights.
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes data and insights to develop customer centric marketing strategies that drive growth with a focus on continuous optimization and increased effectiveness.
- Sets creative strategies and executes customer messaging that creates demand for Sprouts products, drives brand strength and delivers increased sales and traffic.
- Utilizes storytelling to engage the Sprouts core customers and takes initiative to and drive traffic to the store
- Oversees the creation of in-store marketing collateral, designed to feature and effectively support store promotions and events
- Works in partnership with the Sprouts store design team to identify new opportunities for an improved customer experience including wayfinding.
- Understands various store format opportunities and challenges and works in partnership to develop unique solutions to deliver on signage/messaging needs
- Ensures brand value is reflected in marketing promotions to increase sales, traffic and customer loyalty
- Has a clear understanding of different mediums of media and what is needed to develop strong creative for these mediums
- In collaboration with the Sr Director, Creative, directs the work of third-party agencies, reviews and approves all final creative work
- Leads the in-house brand marketing team focused on developing and executing strategies, prioritizing messaging needs, planning and producing assets across all channels
- Collaborates and works cross functionally with the Marketing Leadership Team to ensure all marketing initiatives appropriately reflect the Sprouts brand
- Sets Sprouts brand marketing standards, guidelines, and language
- Takes the initiative to research and understands industry trends and takes action to address market opportunities, challenges or obstacles
- Works within a set budget and pivots quickly as needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required
- 7-10 years experience in brand and creative marketing, to include experience leading a team of high performing professionals
- 3+ years managing multi-level teams
- Retail, restaurant or customer facing brand experience preferred
- Previous experience working in a cross-functional environment
- Experience setting marketing strategy and driving execution through leadership
- Experience directing work through a third-party advertising/marketing agency
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with experience developing processes that work
- Ability to influence, inspire and lead others
- Experience presenting at the Executive level and has experience putting together clear, concise powerpoint presentations
- Excellent project management skills and highly organized
