Norgren is part of global engineering organization IMI plc, positioned within the Precision Engineering Division.

This is an onsite role at 72 Spring Ln, Farmington, CT 06032.

Overview:

Work as a senior technical team member to provide the highest level of Engineering Advantage to our customers by improving designs for manufacturing, profitability, performance, quality, and customer requirements on existing and new products; providing design support on existing products to all departments; evaluating all ECN’s and BOM revisions to drive customer satisfaction and contribute to sales growth.Also, perform routine processes requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out production sustaining engineering duties, redesign of existing products, and design of new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering design, documentation, and bill of material for products on both a domestic and global level.

  • Develop project timelines, risk assessment, test methods, and implementation plans for programs under candidate’s responsibility.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve product integrity issues through designing and implementing verification and validation programs to ensure designs are adequate for intended purpose with an appropriate sense of urgency. Support VAVE and product transfers.

  • Interface directly with customers and end users to understand application needs to design, develop, and implement custom engineered solutions meeting customer product specifications and all industry and regulatory requirements. Research requirements, present design options, and document results or concepts for project team, engineering management, or external customers review.

  • Coordinate complex design and project activities with other engineers onsite. Perform standard design calculations and support engineering efforts on critical projects which includes idea/concept development, prototype evaluation, concept verification, and production design validation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • **Education and Experience**- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college in Engineering

    • 10+ years related engineering design experience
  • Skills and Competencies- Strong skills in Engineering techniques including technical writing, failure investigation / root cause analysis, design for manufacturability.

  • Computers and Technology- MS Office experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

    • 10+ years’ experience using ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (JDE preferred)
    • 10+ years’ experience with SolidWorks, Inventor (preferred), or a related CAD program

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

Mentor junior engineers as needed.
