How will you make an impact?
As a subject matter authority, you will support new business development for plasmid manufacturing at various sites. You will do so by collaborating with customers and internal groups to assess technical requirements for plasmid development! You will also work with sales teams, site personnel and proposals and operations teams to support generation of comprehensive proposals. You will work with marketing to build content and promote our technical capability as a leader in plasmid manufacturing.

What will you do?

• Serve as a subject matter authority (SME) supporting Sales and Business Development Executives (BDE) for plasmid manufacturing projects.
• Attend customer calls or meet with customers to assess their specific needs. Propose scientifically sound solutions, development pathways, seek collaborative efforts, and translate requirements to quotations. Ensure proposed solutions are scientifically viable and meet the business needs of both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Review final proposals to ensure scientific and technical accuracy.
• Assist with completing Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) and ensure timely delivery and customer requirements.
• Ensure that site presentation is consistent with corporate marketing standards and update it frequently based on current technical capabilities. Support BDEs and site teams to improve customer experience while on site.
• Identify strategic opportunities with relevance to plasmid manufacturing for capability improvement to gain more proposal acceptance and business growth based on market and customer requests.
• Train current senior staff and other colleagues on plasmid manufacturing capabilities presentation. Develop and present capabilities to external groups include trade associations and scientific organizations.
• Engage with customers and operations staff for problem solving.
• Collaborate with Marketing team and support publication of scientific articles, white papers, and thought leadership articles, to raise the credibility and build differentiators for Thermo Fisher’s expertise and services!

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field with minimum 8 years of relevant experience
• Advanced degree in biological sciences or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience

• Significant expertise in molecular biology/microbiology/cell biology or a related field.

• Knowledge on cGMP manufacture preferred.
• Customer-facing experience in previous positions preferred.
• Understanding commercial aspects of a contract development and manufacturing organization preferred.
