Logistics One, a distribution-systems provider that provides customized warehousing, transportationand brokerageneeds to clients, is seeking a staff accountant to join our Finance Team.

The successful candidate will analyze financial information and prepare supporting documentation of balance sheet and income statement activities within several business units in order to prepare consolidated and combined financial statements for the company.

Duties include:

· Preparing, examining and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and reports to assess accuracy and conformance to reporting standards.

· Compiling financial information to prepare and post entries to the general ledger; documenting business transactions; detailing assets and liabilities, and capital; and preparing balance sheets, and P&L’s.

· Applying accounting principles to analyze and prepare financial reports

· Heavy participation in month and year end close activities including, but not limited to, revenue accruals, various expense accruals, and work paper preparation.

· Assist in creating and updating the annual budget

· Maintaining data used to calculate certain performance measures including average fuel price.

· Analysis and review of other data and transactions specific to the Transportation business such as work involving driver expenses, fuel imports and the issuance of EFS fuel cards, Drop Trailer and Lumper fees etc.

· Monitor intercompany activity and resolve and variances.

Qualifications:

· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

· Minimum 5 years in Staff Accountant position for mid-size company with experience in inter-company transfers, analysis of costs, preparation of work papers and month-end close responsibilities.

· Must be proficient with accounting software programs; experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred.

· Intermediate experience with Excel

· Mathematical and critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify solutions and determine conclusions. Solid judgment and decision making skills to consider relative costs and benefits of potential actions.

· High professionalism, maturity and effective communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
