SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION:

ANSER is seeking a Strategic Communication Analyst to support a Decision Support Group focused on International Relations and Military Affairs. This Decision Support Group provides analytical and operational support to the Office of the Director, Administration and Management for the Deputy Secretary of Defense and other senior DoD leaders. The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance with mapping stakeholder relationships, managing strategic communications and outreach, and anticipating bureaucratic needs and organizational support from DoD, other Federal agencies, academia, and industry to support the Decision Support Group’s mission. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work independently, but also as a part of a team.

The Strategic Communications Analyst will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinating all aspects of the development and execution of strategic messaging and ensuring that all written communications are appropriately aligned Coordinating the initiation, planning, execution, and tracking of engagements for Decision Support Group, including developing appropriate prep packages and presentation materials, and tracking all aspects of the engagement and its outcomes.
  • Plan and execute a campaign of engagement for the Decision Support Group, in coordination, with the appropriate Government staff.
  • Developing overarching strategic communication’s plans and cross organizational rollout plans for major initiatives.
  • Drafting talking points, briefings, and communication reports.
  • Build and maintain relationships with OSD Public Affairs, Office of General Counsel, OSD Legislative Affairs liaisons, and other DoD stakeholders and counterparts.
  • Ensuring all official correspondence (e.g., transmittal letters, memos, and presentations) conform to DoD requirements and standards.
  • Create, track, technical edit and/or support Correspondence and Task Management System packages.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree in field related to tasking and 5 year's related experience OR Bachelor's degree in field related to tasking and 8 year's related experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at date of hire.
  • Ability to provide on-site support in the NCR, Monday through Friday, during core business hours of 8am-4pm. Potential for shift coverage to support earlier (0600-1400) or later (1000-1800).
  • Familiarity with strategic communications, public affairs, and legislative issues.
  • Prior experience writing and editing content for senior leader consumption and use.
  • A minimum of two years of experience supporting an external communications/strategic communications program for a civilian, uniformed, or defense industrial base senior leader/executive is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) or joint Staff (JS) level experience is preferred.
