Student Assistant- Social Media Coordinator Andalusia Institute Job at Georgia College
Job Summary
Seeking an undergraduate student with experience in content creation to support a 100% federally grant-funded project between Georgia College and Baldwin County Schools that seeks to fosters stronger student literacy achievement in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The social media coordinator will create content to promote the grant outcomes and inform community members of engagement opportunities as well as to promote the mission and goals of the Andalusia Institute. This role will support in creating content for the grant website. This position will run for one semester with the possibility of summer work and reports to the Project Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Social media - 50 Create engaging graphics and videos to promote grant activities and outcomes. Monitor social media pages and answer inquiries in a timely manner. Assist with updating and maintaining project website.
Administrative Support - 25 Assist with promoting podcast episodes written and read by 5th grade students. Operates equipment, including fax machine, personal computer or laptop, printer, copier, scanner, etc.
Other Duties as Assigned - 25
Required Qualifications
Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
Excellent writing and proofreading skills
Graphic design experience (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, etc.)
Student enrolled at GCSU in 6 credit hours or more.

ABILITIES
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment, to take initiative, and to follow through with all responsibilities and assigned tasks. Ability to work with a diverse constituency. Access to a vehicle to drive to assigned mentorship location.

- Best practices for creating accessible social media posts, including use of color contrast and image descriptions

- Must be proactive and able to engage with a diverse constituency
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
