Supervising Occupational Therapist Job at MOST/DFW
MOST/DFW is looking for a passionate, patient-focused Supervising Occupational Therapist to work with an interdisciplinary team of Speech, Physical and ABA therapists for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. MOST partners with several ABA centers across the metroplex, where our team of therapists treat onsite at the ABA centers.
This position is an ongoing need, and can be based out of the Dallas, Plano, and Richardson areas, depending on the applicant's location and willingness to travel.
This position is a part-time 1099 contractor position to start, with starting rates ranging from $50.00 to $65.00 per session, as well as rates for evaluations and weekly supervision of an assistant, based on years of experience.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Masters in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- OT License to practice in the State of Texas
- Minimum 2-years OT experience
- Minimum 1-year experience with pediatrics, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or Sensory Processing Disorder preferred
- Minimum 1-year experience supervising COTAs preferred
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Willing to undergo a background check
- Daytime availability
- Laptop or tablet to document via Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Job Summary
The Supervising Occupational Therapist will evaluate and provide occupational therapy services in collaboration with speech therapists, as well as behavior therapists, at our center or one of our several partnering ABA centers, for a variety of clients ranging from 3-20 years of age.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Create and implement therapy programs that enhance performance in the client’s daily living and improve quality of life
- Administer evaluations, analyze results of evaluating assessments, and report findings
- Formulate plan of care and set long-term and short-term goals for prescription of services for clients
- Track and record client progression and mastery of goals; observe and record client’s progress, attitudes, and behaviors, while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA regulation and ethical standards
- Collaborate with co-treating therapists to innovate ideas and techniques to reach a client’s goal
- Participate in reports and meetings on client’s progress disciplines relating to therapy treatment and goals
- Instruct and educate clients and families
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Attend and participate in continuing education programs to monitor proficiency, expand current knowledge and enhance professional excellence. Willingly shares knowledge and provides clinical orientation to other members of the staff
Supervision Opportunities: Prior experience supervising COTAs is a plus. Supervisors will carry out supervision and assist assistants in administering treatment as needed, including reviewing and signing off on daily SOAP Notes, as well as providing weekly direct and indirect supervision. Supervision is compensated at an additional weekly rate.
