Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiently speak, read and write English
US work authorization (required)

We are willing to train folks with the right attitude and experience working with children ages 16 months through 6 years.
CPR Certification, Daily Health Observation, and Medication Administration Training (MAT) are a plus!
Responsibilities of our Montessori Assistants:
- reports directly to the lead teacher in all pertinent matters or areas of concern;
- supervises children ages 16 months - 6 years old, ensuring all licensing regulations are followed;
- embraces the Montessori philosophy and has the discipline required to embody Montessori values at all times;
- develops and open and productive relationship with the lead teacher and takes advice and instruction to develop consistency in the environment;
- co-teaches students under the guidance of the lead teacher;
- demonstrates basic computer literacy/competency;
- daily prepares and maintains a beautiful, safe, and authentic Montessori environment that meets the needs of all learners;
- demonstrates competency to support an educational program based on the individual child;
- interacts with children in a respectful, calm, and warm tone. Consistently models the behavior we teach in our daily grace and courtesy lessons. Provides gentile, compassionate limits for children and sets realistic boundaries;
- models positive attitudes and courteous behavior for all children and adults and will prepare all other visitors and teacher to model the same respect while in the classroom;
- continues to get to know each child's learning style;
- communicates all pertinent issues concerning children or families with the lead teacher immediately.
- The candidate must have an excellent track record of attendance. This is a full-time, 10-month position with days off according to our approved school calendar. Please note teachers will attend additional professional development training sessions, parent or admin/staff meetings and conferences, school events/fundraisers, etc, which may be outside of regular school hours.
