Woodinville Montessori School is not a typical school. For the past 40 years we have created a learning environment to support the whole child's growth and development. The environment is prepared specifically to allow children to explore their surroundings and materials in support of their learning and development. The freedom to explore, choose and learn in a safe place is crucial to toddlers. To guarantee this sense of safety, children are guided to act within the parameters of the three basic ground rules that will serve them for a lifetime: respect of self; respect for others; and respect for the environment.

This part-time position, year-round, with the hours of 11:00am - 5:30pm, starts as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will:

• Be committed to oversee the safety and well-being of students in the classroom as well as on the playground
• Plan interesting and relaxing after school activities
• Prepare and serve snack
• Carry out all preparation and clean up responsibilities
• Exhibit a high degree of organization and attention to recordkeeping and details.
• Display excellent oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:

• High School diploma required. Bachelor degree is preferable.
• Two or more years’ classroom experience is preferable
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of current research in human development and learning in support of the Montessori educational approach preferable.
• Up to date Professional record in MERIT Registry

Salary/Benefits: Salary is dependent on education and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off; 403b retirement plan; professional development allowance.
