Available Position: Transition Consultant supervised by Arkansas Transition Services Coordinator, employed by Dawson Education Services Cooperative. Full time position for southwestern part of Arkansas.Arkansas Transition Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to provide consultation and training services to special educators, related staff, and agencies that serve individuals with disabilities. The Transition Consultant will work closely with special education teachers, supervisors, and other professionals to develop and implement transition plans that promote successful post-secondary outcomes for students with disabilities.Responsibilities: Provide consulting services to special education teachers regarding secondary transition in special educationCollaborate with agencies who serve individuals with disabilities to ensure a coordinated and effective transition processDevelop and implement transition plans that promote successful post-secondary outcomes for students with disabilitiesConduct training sessions for special education teachers and other professionals on effective transition planning and implementationAttend and participate in relevant conferences and meetings to stay current on best practices and trends in the field of transition servicesMaintain accurate and complete records and documentation related to transition servicesTravel to various locations in the state to provide consulting services and training sessionsQualifications: Bachelors degree required in special education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.Knowledge of transition planning and services for students with disabilities and strong desire to +support individuals with disabilities in obtaining positive post school outcomesExperience in providing training and consultation to educators and other professionals; presentation skills in small and large group settings.Effective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamValid driver's license and ability to travel within the state, including some overnight stays, as well as outside the state for professional development/meetings as appropriate.Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email capabilitiesApplicants with experience in the field of special education, transition, career and technical education, coaching adult learners, or related areas are strongly encouraged.Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance availableTeacher RetirementPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesTo apply, please submit your resume and cover letter to Bonnie Boaz, Coordinator, Arkansas Transition Services, 1401 W.
