Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is seeking an
Outgoing PROFESSIONAL to drive the VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT activities for Manatee County, including but not limited to Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Palmetto, and Ellenton. This is a full-time, energetic, inspirational position that drives the volunteer recruitment activities to establish a strong base for our one-to-one mentoring initiatives.
This role does require going into the community to meet with local stakeholders throughout the county on a frequent basis. Travel is anticipated to be 50% of the time regularly.
This role does require working hours outside of the standard daily work day, including evening and occasionally weekends.
This role does require reporting to the Manatee office in Bradenton. This is not a remote work position.

This position is primarily responsible for community engagement and developing new strategies to secure volunteer recruitment to support the one-to-one mentoring relationship in order to achieve or exceed the need for volunteers in Manatee County by leveraging our community connections and external relationships to expand the volunteer base.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, project management or a related field is preferred or 2-5 years related experience in community development, outside sales, public speaking, or project management or a combination of experience and education.
Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus.
What are the key duties of the role?
- Builds relationships with regional business groups, professional organizations, local businesses, faith-based communities, Chambers of Commerce, HOAs and other resources
- Utilizes agency resources for volunteer engagement with a hands-on approach to recruiting, soliciting feedback and support to grow a volunteer base.
- Reviews data and participates in developing volunteer strategies specific to Manatee County.
- Utilizes present Volunteer base for feedback and recommendations drive new enrollments and inquiries.
- Reports on activities and results to key stakeholders within and outside the Agency.
- Leverages Manatee County Community Partners as identified from previous Impact Reports, Matchforce, and Sunforce records and other sources.
- Leads the volunteer recruitment of Manatee County consistent with the goals of the Program Initiatives.
- Promotes the agency’s objectives and initiatives in the community by participating in speaking engagements to foster support, branding and name recognition of the agency for volunteer development.
- Participates in cross-functional agency teams to develop the County recruitment plan, including budgetary and resource requirements.
- Works in conjunction with Program staff to accomplish established goals.
- Develops and ensures effective and timely partner recognition and stewardship with the Communications and Marketing department.
- Maintains the ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise that are within the capacity of the position.
- Maintains data and records of multiple activities in an organized and concise manner.
- Responds to communications from other departments or personnel in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties reasonable and relevant to the position and needs of the agency, including working hours outside the standard daily work schedule, which frequently may include evenings, early mornings, and or occasional weekends.
