Responsibilities

Category Leadership
The Demand Accelerator (DX) team represents a transformation of Shopper Insights, Shopper Marketing, Category Leadership and Space resources supporting Sales and Marketing plans across the PepsiCo portfolio. This approach allows us to build best-in-class capabilities, develop deep functional expertise, and offer focused programs to drive growth with our customers.
As a Walmart Inc Advisor, you will work in a growing, strategic and dynamic category as a trusted advisor and partner with the customer, helping drive assortment and space strategy. Specifically, this role will work to identify market trends, shopper insights, competitive threats, and customer strategies to increase sales, drive category growth and deliver increased share of market.
  • Primary responsibility is to lead, enhance, and grow the fact-based and insight-led relationship with our Merchant partners by being a thought leader and “go-to” resource for all category, shopper and consumer trends, and merchandising solutions. Specifically, this role will lead the modular build process delivering granular and optimized Modulars to the merchant team. Additionally, this role will be a key partner with merchants on assortment and space strategy in the Center store.
  • Secondary responsibilities include leveraging multiple data sources to gain a deep understanding of consumer and shopper behavior. Use shopper-specific granular analytics from multiple data sources across markets, shoppers, and consumers to make business-building recommendations for category growth and refine assortment strategy.
As a Walmart Inc Advisor, you have an opportunity to make immediate impact in a growing part of center store. You will help drive the discovery and use of customer and market insights to help the customer and PepsiCo increase sales and improve shopper satisfaction. You will drive a better understanding of the category and leverage these learnings to continuously improve assortment and merchandising.
This work includes assessing new product introductions, pricing analyses, consumer usage analyses, and understanding the impact of assortment changes on category and brand growth.
You will also be required to:
  • Leverage data, space tools, and automation to deliver best-in-class planograms and assess impact on performance
  • Utilize syndicated consumer and market data for the purposes of uncovering compelling insights
  • Leverage shopper and consumer insights in the development of category strategies
  • Integrate information from many sources and develop actionable insights and recommendations
  • Keep abreast of developments and best practices in category management. It is expected that you will pursue the knowledge needed to improve and strengthen professional functional competence.
  • Participate in account strategic planning processes.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $98,700 - $140,150
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out Annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of Category Management experience within the consumer-packaged-goods industry
  • Highly proficient with JDA, Retail Link/MADRID, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and Tableau
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data via IRI and/or Nielsen required: Will work with several data sources in role. Understanding of shopper insights and panel data preferred
  • Previous Walmart or Sam’s Club Advisor experience is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking; ability to link strategies and objectives to develop compelling stories
  • Strong thought-leadership and influencing skills: ability to influence both internal team members and customer to reach goals
  • Ability to proactively set and lead an insights agenda
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and storytelling experience
  • Ability to “connect the dots” and bring insights into action
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at the Executive level. Ability to interact confidently and effectively with team members, management and customer contacts
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong planning/prioritization/organizing skills; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong capability to leverage influencing skills to gain alignment, agreement, and commitments (internal/external)
